What is a CO2 evaporator?


CO2 evaporators are evaporators that use carbon dioxide (CO2) as a refrigerant.

CO2 as a refrigerant has a variety of advantages, for example, it is a natural refrigerant, no damage to the ozone layer (ODP = 0), minimal impact on global warming (GWP = 1), harmless and non-flammable and explosive; at the same time, CO2 refrigeration system has a high-efficiency features, its unit design is simple and compact, piping and internal volume is small, easy to install, and the basic design of the traditional HFC refrigeration unit is similar.


The features of CO2 all stainless steel evaporator include: small resistance of set piece, fewer times of frost flushing; high heat transfer efficiency, good cooling effect; fan special matching, can save a lot of energy consumption.

This series of products has a wide range of application, and different models can be used in freezing room (-23~30℃), freezing material cold storage room (-18~-25℃), cooling material cold storage room (4~-2℃) and so on.


In practice, the performance of CO2 evaporators may be affected by a number of factors. For example, some studies have shown that in the calibration box temperature of -25 ~ 0 ℃, cycle times in the range of 2 ~ 5 range of changes in the total heat transfer coefficient of the evaporator with the increase in the temperature of the calibration box; refrigeration medium for the CO2, the evaporator's refrigeration capacity is significantly higher than that of other refrigeration medium; at a certain temperature, the pressure drop in the inner side of the tube will be with the increase in the cycle times the increase in the heat transfer coefficient of the cycle times with the increase in the first increase and then gradually reduce, in the cycle times the increase in the first increase in the heat transfer coefficient of the evaporator. The heat transfer coefficient increases firstly with the increase of the cycle rate and then decreases gradually, and the heat transfer coefficient reaches the maximum when the cycle rate is about a specific value.
